1st Detect security application

The 1st Detect Miniature Chemical Detector can be deployed as a point of care diagnostics tool enabling providers to diagnose more diseases faster than is now possible. Early disease detection is becoming increasingly important as we discover that survival rates dramatically increase with early detection. Research has shown that people with cancer, asthma, and many other diseases carry trace amounts of distinctive biomarkers in their breath. Detecting these markers could allow doctors to diagnose such diseases in their early stages, noninvasively, and pre-symptomatically.

The portability, flexible capabilities, and low cost of the 1st Detect can bring laboratory grade analysis to satellite and field laboratories, clinics, and physician's offices. The cost of traditional mass spectrometers has prevented the widespread deployment into smaller hospitals and laboratories, but this will no longer be the case with 1st Detect's price advantage opening new opportunities never before possible in healthcare applications. Having this technology in regional and local medical facilities will mean that expensive and time consuming laboratory analysis is minimized, this enabling more patients to be screened faster.
